Brilliant. Some well-needed humour. I'm guessing this guy won't be doing his stand-up act in Tower Hamlets, Luton, Birmingham, Leicester, Manchester, Bradford, Slough .... come to think of it, he's going to be struggling to find a venue.
Ricky Gervais was asked recently if he's changed his act to reflect the times we're living in.
He said: "No, I haven't changed my act .... but I have changed my security. A few years ago I didn't need any". He's famous for saying "Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right"
Like a lot of comedians, Ricky is very smart. He has a degree in Philosphy from University College London. He is friends with Richard Dawkins and they have performed together.
Ricky said this (but he may well have stolen the idea from Dawkins):
"Science is constantly proved right because it changes its mind when new evidence comes along.
Religion links with meta physics - beyond physics- some things, like logic, don't change. One cannot believe in a religion you can fully understand for then you would be God but equally one cannot believe in a religion contrary to reason or truth.

Religion doesn't".

I agree with Oscar Wilde. When Oscar was asked if he believed in God, he said:
"No ... I believe in something much bigger than that".
